Make-Up Review: Urban Decay's Perversion Mascara VS Benefit's They're Real Mascara

Monday, September 8, 2014

Hey guys! Susie here, bringing you my review of Urban Decay's Perversion Mascara VS Benefit's They're Real Mascara.

These are some of the most hyped mascara's out right now. They're Real has been out for a good while, but Perversion just came out within the last month or so.

So you want to know which is better, huh?

Well, I'll give you my review and then you decide!

Above is a picture of both mascara's side by side. Perversion on the left and They're Real on the right.

I'll start by saying that I think they are both great and the differences in the end result are quite subtle. I curled my eyelashes prior to using each mascara.

Urban Decay's Perversion Mascara, $22
Overall: A-

This mascara is fantastic at thickening and lengthening your lashes. The wand is very soft and easy to use to coat your lashes. It stays on all day without flaking or smudging, but the formula allows for easy removal with your normal make up cleansers. I only gave this mascara an A- because the wide bristles of the wand makes it hard to get every lash. So as a result, lashes get kind of grouped together, as opposed to separated. Not a big deal, but I think if it could get every lash, this mascara would be out of this world.

Benefit's They're Real Mascara, $23
Overall: B+

What Perversion can't do, They're Real can. They're Real has a really fantastic wand that features stiff bristles that is topped with a spiky ball on the end of it. Sounds dangerous, but totally awesome. It allows you to get every single lash that you have and lengthens each one. It stays on all day, but sometimes I've noticed that it will begin to flake. You do need a decent eye make up remover to take this off. None of my face cleansers have been able to take it off so far, so I have been using the Benefit eye make up remover, which could end up as an extra cost. It does make your eyelashes look very long without clumping ,but if you are looking for a volumizing mascara, you may find that this falls a bit short.

Which do you prefer?
Perversion or They're Real?
