BEAUTY AND STYLE | When Beauty Mask Review

If you guys have been following along, you know how much I LOVE skin care. It always feels like I am pampering myself and it gives me a chance to focus on me, not the mom me or the wife me or the student me or the business woman me, but me, as an individual, just as I am. I love the process and how it feels to be doing something for myself for no other reason than to indulge.

I had the opportunity to try out When Masks and OMG do they feel like luxury!

Well, actually, at first, they felt like slimy jellyfish. When I opened the packaging and pulled out the bio-cellulose mask, it was very liquid-y. It comes folded up, where the mask is sandwiched between paper to protect the mask inside. When you unfold it and separate the papers, which is a little difficult to do, you get the mask out.

It feels like it would be difficult to hold because of how slimy it feels, but it's not. I've used different kind of masks before, but none like this. Here's where the mask goes from slimy to impressive. The mask is thick, and the gel like texture helps it to easily adhere to your face. It is cool and refreshing when you first put it on, which is slightly shocking, but in the BEST way. It smoothers over and sticks to itself, which means I was able to make it attach to every curve of my face, allowing the maximum amount of skin surface being touched by the mask. And it stays there! It doesn't move! With other masks I have used, you kind of have to be in a laying down position so that it doesn't slide off of your face. But with this mask, I just continued doing what I was doing, which was giving myself a pedicure. I held my face at a downward angle for the entire time and the mask didn't lift, not ever the tiniest bit.

Another feature that I enjoyed was that after the treatment is over, you don't have to go wash your face. Instead you just massage any remaining product into your skin. It doesn't leave a weird residue at all! In fact it leaves your skin ultra hydrated, super soft and super refreshed.

While you don't have to apply these masks in private, just be warned that all other humans in the house may make fun of you for looking a bit like a blob fish.

(Do you see what I mean? Try to unsee that!)

There are a few different kinds of masks that you can choose from to customize your experience for your skin. The best part is that you can pick up these masks at your local Ulta or Sephora (among other places) so they are easy to get your hands on.
